1.All players with a FIDE ID are eligible to play in the rated section. 2. All players not banned by FIDE are eligible to play. 3. Non FIDE rated players can only play in the unrated section.
The event will be held at the Mercy Adelaide Aforo Asante Centre of Excellence, in Accra.

FIDE rated swiss system will be used and the entire tournament shall be governed by the General Regulations for FIDE Competitions. 5.2 Players belonging to FIDE affiliated organizations as approved by the FIDE Council are also eligible to participate subject to these regulations. 5.3 Time Control is 90minutes plus 30seconds increment starting from move one. 5.4 Default time is 15 minutes. A player who arrives at the chessboard after the default time shall lose the game unless the Arbiter decides otherwise. 5.5 The final ranking order of the players shall be determined by the number of points scored; the player with highest number of points wins. 5.6 If two or more players tie for the first place or for any position, the tie shall be broken in the following order: Direct Encounter points (applies only if all tied players have played each other); Buchholz Cut 1; Buchholz; Greater number of wins with black pieces. Greater number of wins.
The Organizer shall award Trophies, medals, certificates and cash prices to eligible participants as follows:
Overall winner (1st Prize) /- Certificate of Honour, Trophy- Kwame Nkrumah Excellence Award, Medal -Trophy -Cash price of GHC 5,000
2nd Prize - Certificate of Honour, Climate Gatekeeper Award, Trophy, Medal, Cash Price of GHC 3,000 -
3rd Prize - Certificate of Honour - Trophy- Organic and Green Sensitization Gatekeeper Award -Medal Cash Price of GHC 2,000
Overall Best Female - Yaa Asantewaa Gallant Warrior Award

Registration – Accommodation package includes (per person): . Accommodation for 11 Nights . Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Transportation from the Kotoka International Airport to the venue/hostel upon arrival and from the hostel to the airport on departure. (NB: Hostel accommodation is free for all titled invited players who opt to stay in the hostel).
There is also a 5 Star Hotel Accommodation at the African Regents Hotel per night as follows:

Any participant who requires a visa to enter Ghana is required to contact the organizer before 14th August, 2023 for the necessary invitation letters. The organizer shall not be responsible for late submissions and applications for visas.
